Ballard-Jung Join Forces to Fight Cancer

Dear friend,

Boasting decades of history and tradition, the Kentucky Derby is far and away one of the most exciting, magical events that occurs throughout the course of a year....and 2009 was certainly no exception.

Churchill Downs and the "greatest two minutes in sports" provided the backdrop and venue for a "meeting" of epic proportions this past May, as two former CD employees - Brooke Ballard and Chris Jung - discovered an instant chemistry.

Nearly five months later, that spark at the track has developed into a wonderful relationship and created a duo that is able to tackle any challenge placed in front of it. The next "challenge" we have decided to take head on is the Walt Disney World Half-Marathon on January, 9, 2010.

On the surface, this may just sound like a fancy New Year's getaway to sunny Florida. And while neither of us will argue with the destination of this event, there is a lot of work involved - most importantly our task of raising a combined $7600 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through our TEAM in Training efforts. That is where YOU come in.

We are both running in honor and memory of people in our lives who have been effected by cancer, specifically the aforementioned blood cancers that will affect an estimated 139,000 Americans in 2010. Fortunately, advances are being made to find a cure for these horrific diseases, but more funding is necessary for further progress to be made.

So can you help us? We understand more than ever that the economy makes the donating of money a daunting task, but please rest assured that every donation, of any amount makes a difference and we would be extremely grateful for any assistance you are able to provide.
