On July 24th, 2008 I will be raising my hands and shouting to the sky in celebration of my 5 year CANCER FREE anniversary!!!

Please help me celebrate this personal victory by donating to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and cheering me on when I run The Nation's Triathlon in Washington, DC on September 14th.

Team in Training Chapters all over the country are participating in this race and I would love to challenge all of you to join with me in fundraising and running your first (or 100th) triathlon! Let's cross the finish line together!!!

I have now done 10 triathlons, a 1/2 marathon, and over 20 5k's and 10k's! Who would have ever thought that cancer would be the impetus for me to start running again after all these years!

But more than anything...your support has been one of the most inspirational parts of this for me. Your donations to a cause that is so near to my heart and your support e-mails and letters have helped me to become the person I am today. Stronger both mentally and physically than I have ever been in my life...

The best news is that this summer, on July 24th, 2008, I will be celebrating 5 years of clean health! Help me commemorate this upcoming milestone by donating whatever you can so that in the near future it won't be "if I make it to 5 years" but "WHEN I make it to 5 years!"

I'm completing this triathlon in honor of all individuals who are affected by cancer. So I thank you again, in advance, for your support of me and this wonderful cause...together we'll cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

The Team In Training fundraising dollars help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. Since 1988, more than 250,000 volunteer participants have helped raise more than $800 million for cancer research.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society was a great help to me when I was sick. They provide information, connections to other cancer patients and survivors, financial support, supplies, seminars, support groups, links to the latest treatments and clinical trials and so much more. Last season they provided me with two personal coaches and helped me get back the conditioning that I lost due to the disease and the treatments! Who knew I would be crossing the finish line of a Triathlon just 2 years after finishing treatments! Thank you Team in Training!!!

Please celebrate with me and help the fight to end cancer by making a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.

If you would like to make your donation in honor or in memory of someone please e-mail me his or her name and I will add it to my jersey when I run. Also, if you make a donation of $500 or more the Leukemia Lymphoma Society will silkscreen the name of your honoree onto the shirts of the whole Kentucky Chapter!

I hope you'll visit my web site often. You can see pictures of some of the triathlons I have run and all the stuff that goes on this season at members.aol.com/RuthTris You can also check out pictures of my cancer journey and other photographs at www.RuthAdamsPhotography.com Thanks for your support!

p.s. If you would rather send a check than give online please send it to: Ruth Adams, 224 Pepper Drive, Lexington, KY 40511 (Make checks payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society)
