Sooo....only 7 weeks left and I finally have my bike!!! I am so excited and can't wait to start riding with the rest of the team. I had a close call this week and almost thought I wouldn't be able to compete in May due to training I have to attend prior to my deployment. We were able to work it out and I now leave for training the morning after the tri, so I might be one tired traveler, but the tri is def worth it!!!

In the last 2 weeks I've met two people, one in Wal-Mart and one at work...two strangers, completely random that both told me they had lost their fathers to leukemia. Both told me how they were glad that LLS was there trying to make a difference and both said how they respected me for doing what I'm doing in support of LLS. Those two people combined with the threat of almost not being able to compete reminded me of just how important this is. $2000 doesn't seem like much in the big scheme of things, but when you look at all the other TNT team members out there raising at least that much, we really are making a difference, and I couldn't be prouder to be part of this amazing team!

With alll this training, I know I'm on my to being able to finish...now if I could only find a bike...lol. Minor issue I hope to get resolved soon...

Last week we swam 1000M timed to establish our pace groups. I must say I was pretty impressed with myself...1000M in just under 23 minutes is huge for me. The rest of the team did just as well...that's the first time most of us had ever swam that far so it was a challenge, but we all came through!!

Round 2 of my attempt at triathlon...I WILL FINISH THIS TIME!!!

Last year, an old injury snuck up on me and prevented me from finishing the CapTex Triathlon. I refuse to let that happen again. In a little over 2 months I will be crossing the finish line of my first triathlon in honor of and for all the blood cancer patients, that due to their disease, can't. I will be crossing the finish line as a proud member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. I am honored to have the opportunity to raise money to fund such an awesome organization.

We have an awesome team this year and we have been working hard together to raise money and prepare ourselves for the daunting race ahead of us. I am having fun and whooping my tail into shape, but I need your support to help me improve the quality of life for patients and their families.
