Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I have lost my marbles, and I'm going to run 26.2 miles around San Diego to find them. That's right, I'm running a marathon. May 31st, 2009 my sister Keri and I, along with other Team in Training members, will be running the Rock n' Roll Marathon in San Diego, California. This will be my first marathon, and I need your help to accomplish my goal.

I'm not going to make you run with me, but I can use your suppport. Team in Training (TNT) supports the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) in finding a cure for blood cancers. I am running in honor of a 10 year old boy named Michael (pictured here with his sister.) He's battling Lymphoma, and I would love nothing more than for him to have many more years of picking on his younger sister, just like I've had with Keri.

My father lost both of his parents to Leukemia. I never met my Grandpa Engle, and I don't remember my Grandma Engle. She died when I was only 4 months old. My dad was a marathoner back then, and Keri and I want to see if we can pass him up.

All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Update 3/12/09: I'm still out there running! My endurance is improving along with my muscle tone. Now I need to speed up! I'm so thankful for all the statements of support from my family and friends, and even strangers! I truly appreciate every penny donated. With your help, I'm making good progress, but I have a long way to go! Thank you. Gotta run! :)
