Hiking Yosemite - Fundraising for LLS

Longest run ever
Apr 02, 2017 by Janet Cross

Yesterday I spent 3 hours on my feet, getting in 14 miles. It was my longest run/walk ever. I was tired and sore, but very proud of making it that far. I also had a lot of time to think. Can I make my committments this year? My biggest fundraiser isn't going as I'd hoped, so it's going to be tough. I've written tons of letters requesting Corporate donations, mostly with no responses. I know my friends and family are tapped out. I'm really struggling with how I'm going to make this happen. BUT - I know the struggles the patients and their families go through. It's definitely harder on them than it is on me. We've got to find a way to make this happen. I'm open to all suggestions on how to make a huge impact in these lives! I'd welcome any thoughts you might have on how we can all be successful!

There is still time to register for our virtual 5K. If you don't know what that is, just ask! I'll be glad to explain. http://racemaker.org/event/hope-for-a-cure/

Training for Yosemite
Feb 06, 2017 by Janet Cross

Part of our training for the hike is to run/hike on uneven surfaces. This past weekend, I was able to spend some quality time in Booker Bend - in Devils Elbow, MO - in the middle of Mark Twain National Forest. It was fantastic. Just me and the wind, and a gravel road with hills. 7 glorious miles. (Doug was a great SAG wagon - providing drinks at certain intervals along the route, and always encouraging me up that next hill.)

Challenge Accepted: I'm raising $750 for the Adrenaline Challenge with Team in Training. Please support me with a donation to reach my goal by February 28th.

And don't forget to check with your employeer to see if they match! Your donation could be doubled!!

We are making huge strides. Your donations are having an impact!

Training season kicks off
Jan 30, 2017 by Janet Cross

On Saturday, 1/28, we kicked off our Spring/Summer training season with the Indy TNT group. What a great run! And a great group of people. We were even fortunate enough to meet the 2017 Indianapolis Boy of the Year. His name is Drake. He's 5 years old, and a survivor! Too many kids are effected by these terrible diseases! Too many people. Too many! #UntilTheyAllSurvive

Starting the 2017 Training Season
Jan 10, 2017 by Janet Cross

This past weekend, I officially started training for my Spring/Summer running season. Carmel Half Marathon, Flying Pig Half Marathon, Geist Half Marathon, Hike Yosemite, Seattle Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon - all before the end of June. I'm sure there will be some shorter races in there.

I'm very excited about Hike Yosemite. The things we'll get to see, the experiences along the way, the final climb with Team in Training and the feeling of accomplishment. I hope you'll join me along the journey.

We've got an exciting project in the works! I can't wait to share the details with you!
