As the finish line approaches on another season, we often reflect on things we've learned. This season - consistency. You can't get where you want to go, or be what you want to be, by just "participating" whenever you feel like it. You have to be intentional. You have to be consistent. You have to keep at it!
There have been so many advances in research, and survival rates, but we've got a long way to go. As this season wraps up, we'll celebrate our successes, then we'll regroup and start again.
#UntilTheyAllSurvive
Wow. 14 days until the fundraising committment date. 26 days until hike day! This season sure has gone by fast!
I can't wait to be able to share some pictures from the adventures of Yosemite with all of you who have supported me through this journey.
It's been amazing!
I'll be taking a short break, but will be back at it again in the Fall. We have to keep pushing thru.

What a day! Yesterday was my first half marathon of the year: Carmel, IN.
Earlier in the week it was predicted to be a very rainy/wet day. Instead we were digging out long pants, gloves, hats. The temperature was perfect for running, we just had a wind that made it a little more chilly.
Yesterday I didn't have any goals. I didn't want to look at my pace. I didn't want to "get inside my head" when I wasn't where I thought I should be. So, I covered my Garmin with tape! I did peak at the 1 mile mark because I'd lost sight of the pace group. I was doing okay. I had to stop and stretch a couple of times, my calves didn't want to play nicely in the early going. I did "pull back" a couple times early on so that I'd have enough energy to finish. And I just ran. I smiled. I high-fived the kids along the way. I chatted with fellow runners. I just ran.
And when I crossed that finish line, and removed that tape, I was so thrilled that my teammate, Taffanee, was there because I needed someone to hug. 2:30:48! I cut 8 minutes off my personal best. To say I was thrilled would be an understatement. 2:30 was my goal for my Fall race - Monumental Half in November. Guess I'll have to come up with a new goal!
What have I learned this season? To believe! To trust the process. To reach for the stars. To know that if you put in the effort, you will be rewarded. To know that some things are just bigger than me and that if I just let go and let things happen, they will! To keep pushing through the tough times. To keep leaning on your support system. That we're not in this alone.
I hope that the patients and families understand that we've got their six. That we'll keep fighting. That we won't give up.
I believe that we are making a difference in their lives. I know that they've touched mine in a way I never thought possible. With your help, we can find a cure!
LET'S DO THIS!
#UntilTheyAllSurvive
And when this is all over, we'll take a little break then start concentrating on Disney!!!
