In Memory of my Mom, Susan Harris

I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers.

My persistence and dedication are in memory of my dear mom, Susan, who passed in December 2010. My courageous mother along with so many other brave people affected by the same illness are the real heroes on our team. We need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

It is with great passion and pride that I embark on this new adventure.  Despite the challenging realities my mother had to endure, she was ambitious beyond comparison. She would not let her illness affect her lifestyle and choices. She was going to Egypt, hiking in the mountains, hunting for ghosts, viewing the caves or just curling up with Kaiyenne (her cat) next to the fireplace while watching SciFi movies.

My sister and I hold such gratitude for the wonderful family and friends that have supported and reminded us of who my mother was and who she will always be in the memories of those dear to her.

Beautiful and passionate for life… with a heart of gold… my mom was and always will be adored by all.
