Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
I'm training to participate in the 2012 Walt Disney Goofy Challenge (that's running the half and full marathons back to back) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. That is a tough goal, but not as tough as what cancer patients go through. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
10/9/11 - Training has been going fairly strong. I have made 90% of all scheduled runs which is about 50% more than I have in the past. Yea, i have run marathons with little to no training. Diifcult. Not as difficult as having cancer. Please help me make lives better for the thousands of people with leukemai, lymphoma or myloma. Let's raise $1000 this week.
I am upping my running to match that donation wish. I will run evey scheduled run and 5 miles every cross training day. I have 20 miles scheduled for the week and the extra 4 days of cross training make 20 more miles. 40 miles this week. Let's go!!!! and thanks to all.
9/19/11 - Training is on schedule and thanks to you so is the more important fund raising. Please keep spreading thegood word about LLS and TNT. Just small runs this week and an 8 mile run on the weekend that did not happened. I did 3.5 mile hike through Turkey Run state park. This was on course 3, 5 and 9. Probably the most rugged trails out there. And with the new trail blazing (do to Sue getting lost) extra elevation climbs were needed.
9/14/11 - As I am just starting this late in the season (it started 4 weeks ago), my training and fund-raising are behind. I will pick it up and keep updates here and on my running blog - RunningFirst
