Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the beautiful weather. After taking last year off, I have decided to get back to what is near and dear to me. On August 30, 2009, I will be participating in the Olympic Distance Triathlon sponsored by The Leukemia Lymphoma Society to raise money to help find a cure for Leukemia and its related cancers.
Committing the next 3 months to train five days a week with Team in Training, I am hoping to depend on your support to raise $2,000.00 for this worthy cause. On July 25, 1999, my mother, Dolores Ventimiglia, passed away from Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. The sad fact is that just about everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer.
All donations are 100% tax deductible and 75% of every dollar goes to our mission. Feel free to pass this letter and web address to your friends and family. The great thing about The Leukemia Society is that it not only helps Leukemia and Lymphoma patients, but it also helps many other cancer patients. The generosity of friends, family and strangers never ceases to amaze me.
The Olympic distance triathlon consists of just less than a 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike ride and a 6.2 mile run. With every stroke, peddle and stride that I take, I will remember with gratitude your generosity. Visit my web site often to see my progress. Thank you in advance for your support!
