Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my awesome Team In Training home page.

I'm training to run a half-marathon (13.1 miles) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am running this race in honor of all people who are battling or have been effected by cancer--the research done for blood cancers results in improved care for people suffering from all types of cancer. These people are the real heroes on the team, and we need your support to reach our ultimate goal - a cure. They have already helped researchers accomplish so many amazing things, one of the most recent being a pill that lessens the painful and unpleasant side effects of chemotherapy.

UPDATE 12/4: Well, this is it. The last weekend before training starts on Monday... I am getting pretty nervous and I am doubting myself a bit (Can I really get up that early to run again? How cold is it going to get outside?) but also VERY excited to get started and challenge myself. Wish me luck... I may need it... ;)

UPDATE 11/24: I am overwhelmed already by the support of my dear friends--almost a quarter of the way to my minimum goal and triaining hasn't even started yet. My sincerest thanks and love go out to all of you.
