Dear friends, family & community,

Yesterday the six members of Team Kneeland -- a third grade teacher, a cattle rancher, a school aide, a radiology technologist, a realtor, and a stay-at-home mom -- conquered 13.1 miles of the Avenue of the Giants! It was a beautiful day, with perfect running weather, and thousands ran the marathon, half marathon, and 10K distances under the redwoods.

In training for the race and running it, we raised $2,155 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Many thanks for your support! Your donations will fund research to find cures for blood cancers, and will help kids like Tristan, the three year-old son of one Team Kneeland member. Tristan is battling leukemia.

And now, we run! In a little more than a week, the six members of Team Kneeland will run a half marathon under the redwoods at the Avenue of the Giants. We've been training hard, have all completed 12- to 13-mile runs over the last week, and are now tapering down to save some energy before the race. Looking forward to it!

We're pleased to tell you that Team Kneeland is 72% of the way toward our fundraising goal of $2,000. Thank you for helping us raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Your donations will support research to create cures for blood cancers. 

You donate to help find cures for cancer, we run! Our big goal is a half marathon at the Avenue of the Giants on May 1st. To prepare for that race, the six members of Team Kneeland are putting in a lot of miles on the hilly roads of Kneeland Mountain. In addition, we're running a few shorter races. Today, five of us took part in the Foggy Bottom Milk Run in Ferndale, with some members of the team completing the four-mile race and others finishing the ten-mile distance. The pouring rain and pungent dairy farms were all part of the fun, and we all had a great run.
