Welcome to my fifth Team in Training fundraising page! After incredible and life-changing seasons with the Run, Cycle, and Triathlon teams I'm back again training for the Wildflower Long Course triathlon on May 3rd, 2014. Wildflower consists of a 1.2 mile swim in a gorgeous lake, a hilly 56 mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run on mostly trails.
Wildflower, also known as the "Woodstock of Triathlon" is a notoriously challenging race with its weather and hill climbing, so it will be a great practice race in preparation for Ironman Lake Tahoe; my first Ironman coming up in September 2014!
I will be keeping a regular blog about my Ironman training experience at www.wheresthetofu.com so please bookmark that site.
My goals for Wildflower are:
Beat my 2013 time of 7 hours 45 minutes
Once again finish the race with an enormous smile on my face (see photos below)
Raise at least $5,000 this season and give back to an organization that is helping improve the lives of those with blood cancers.
If you are local to the Detroit area, please join us for a Santa Claus 5K which will benefit my fundraiser: www.santa5K.eventbrite.com
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is dedicated to helping find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and Hodgkin's disease.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
