While training for our first half marathon in June, Erin and I met countless survivors and others who have lost family and friends to blood cancers. This inspired us to keep going strong.
We decided to run another half marathon this fall to raise funds and awareness for Acute Myeloid Lukemia (AML). We have joined forces with friends that we made last season and set a goal of raising $100,000. If we reach this goal, 100% of the money that we raise will go toward a research grant to advance cures specifically for AML.
AML is one of the few blood cancers that has seen little progress in effective long term treatments. To this day, AML's survival rate comes in at only 25%. We need your help to further these advancements and make a difference in changing this number!
