10-1 Update

Oct 01, 2013

The countdown to the race has begun. I will be running 13.1 miles in just a few weeks!


The culmination of all these hours of running, training, stretching, icing, fundraising will hopefully pay off with a smooth race on October 20th.


I missed the last big coach lead group run because I was in Ohio visiting my partner's family. But i did run 10.5 miles on my own! I even ran on my birthday :-)

8-24 Sausalito Run

Hello friends,


This Saturday we did a long run in beautiful and scenic Sausalito. We lucked out with a very sunny day that was perfect for running.


Originally I was only scheduled to run 9 miles but when I reached the turnaround marker at 4.5 miles I was feeling good so I decided to keep running and make it 10 miles. Also I was so close to the beach I thought I'd keep going to see the ocean. It was spectacular.



I felt really excited on my way back because this would be the first time I'd run double digit miles in more than 5 years.



Finishing up 10 miles was a great feeling and made me much more confident in doing the half marathon in October.

8 mile run on Aug 10th

Hello friends,


Today I ran my longest so far. I did an 8 mile run up some steep hills into the Presidio. It was very beautiful and scenic but also the most challengine so far. I'm thankful to have people to run with who are fun and encouraging. It makes the time go faster and gives you a boost when you need it.


I also really appreciate the coaches we have at Team in Training. They are always there to give you advice on running form, how to handle aches and pains and prevent injuries. I've learned so much from them!


Please keep up the donations. It's been amazing being on this journey to honor my friend, Tom Pugh. Thank all of you for being part of it.
