Attack Cancer with Team TAC - Triathletes Against Cancer!
Yes, I am back at it again! As most of you know, I have been a part of Team in Training, raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and training for endurance events on and off for the past ten years. Lavaman 2015 will by my sixth event and will mark my raising of over $50,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Why do I continue to do this when raising money is stressful? When trying to stick to a crazy training schedule is demanding? When just thinking about the upcoming event (1 mile ocean swim, 25 mile bike ride, and 6 mile run) is nerve-wracking? Why? Because people I know live with cancer every day. Their struggles are far greater than mine. Because the research and development of the drug Rituxan was fully funded with TNT dollars. This drug has helped my former mother-in-law, Lucianna, and many, many other survivors that I have met over the years. Because being a part of Team in Training allows me to be a part of something much larger than myself. It allows me to really make a difference in this world.
The money I have raised in the past has come from you, my friends, which means you, too, are making a difference in the world and in the life of a cancer patient. I could not do this without all of you. So from the bottom of my heart…Thank You for supporting me!
A wonderful aspect of training for this year’s Lavaman is that I will be training with my step-son, Dominick and my husband, Gavin. Together we are Team TAC – Triathletes Against Cancer. We all have our own reasons for joining in this cause. One reason is of celebration - this year marks Gavin’s 20 year anniversary of being cancer free! So we are working together to make a difference and to celebrate his life. Please join us in making a difference. Please support us in making a tax deductible donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!
LLS is an organization you can feel good about donating to. TNT has raised over $1 billion dollars in the past 22 years to fund cancer research, and that research has led to treatments not only for blood cancers but for other cancers such as prostate, stomach, breast, ovarian...ask me for details if you're interested. All donations go to LLS and are 100% tax deductible. And because I fund my own training and expenses, 100% of your donation goes directly to the cause!
Thank You for your support,
Stacey
