NO EXCUSES
Oct 30, 2012 by Cathy Herbert
-
For those of you who know me personally,
you know I have never been much of a morning person.
It too easy for me to stay in bed.
Today I didn’t.
35 degrees, Gloves, Hat, Headband, Layers, 4 miles check.
Morning runs are truly the best in my opinion, they start my day great!
Training for the full marathon means more miles per run
which consequently demands more time. Morning runs are my friend.
I participated in a very special race Oct. 6th.
My first race with my Mom!
We completed the Race to Cure Lymphoma 5k/10k at Mills Mall.
There were many people there running in memory of loved ones.
These drummers on the course were great!
We got an awesome note from our honored teammate Ben this week…
Thank you Ben for helping me make NO EXCUSES!
Stay tuned… more to come soon!
Sincerely,
Cathy
I am training for the Disney full marathon
and raising money to help find a cure for blood cancers.

Playing Catch Up!
Oct 03, 2012 by Cathy Herbert
-
This was view on the way to complete my 10 mile training run at
Forest Park last Saturday.
I’ve learned about more than running on this journey.
My view of our world seems wider.
I have been playing catch up for weeks now. I was very ill for about a week.
I was not able to train at all during that time, so I’ve been playing catch up to
get my needed miles in before my pre-Disney race, the St. Louis Rock N Roll ½ Marathon.
It is now a little more two weeks away. I’m looking forward to this event in our home town!
It should be a lot of fun!
I know that my temporary illness and challenges are nothing in comparison to
the things our honorary teammate Ben and others with blood cancers go through to simply live.
I remember that when I start to think I can’t make the next mile.
Here is a picture of my teammate and friend Lori. She was diagnosed
two years ago and is now two years in remission! The mission of the
Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is unmatched.

Thank you for your Support!
