Racing to Save Lives
Well, it's April 12th and Go! St. Louis 2010 is officially over. 13.1 miles, two hours, eight minutes, and 25 seconds, and over $2700 raised. Still, the need to raise more money to fight blood cancers isn't over yet.
The experience of training and raising money was only a four-month process, but words cannot even begin to describe how I feel now. I met some AMAZING people throughout the process. With this being a very personal cause for me, crossing that finish line was more emotional than I imagined it to be.
Some of you may already know that I personally was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2009. Thankfully, I was diagnosed at an early stage, and only needed to undergo 20 weeks of treatment. In December 2009, I officially entered remission!
I completed this event in honor of all of the individuals who are still battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
With everything tallied up, our Go! St. Louis team raised $167,000!!! I'm so fired up to keep raising money that I've committed to doing the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco on October 17th this year!! You can visit my Nike event page @
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team InTraining and help advance LLS's mission.
I can't thank all of you enough for all of your support--financially, emotionally, and physically!
