Just a little note and picture of my newest creation.. a Snickers Cheesecake. It's delicious. It has a chocolate crust with chopped nuts. The bottom layer is regular cheesecake, followed by a layer of chopped up or sliced snickers candy bars, the next layer is chocolate cheesecake and then it's topped off with chopped or sliced snickers candy bar. I love making new creations... I have one coming up that's tye-dyed. It would be great for Easter.

I am doing this for several reasons, first and foremost I am raising money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If I raise $2500, I get to walk a half marathon in the San Diego Rock-n-Roll Marathon. But more importantly, it's good to donate to any society that is fighting cancer. Cancer is Cancer and no matter what it's not a good thing. Please donate what you can. Any little bit helps. We have a lot of events and fund raisers coming up. I am working on a Gift Card Raffle and will post more once I get the details worked out.

Well, it's only a little less than two weeks and it's Skate for LLS at Joyland Skate Center in Cabot. Our honorary team in training member Tanner is suppose to be there and I am so excited. He is just the cutest little boy and if I ever need to think about why I'm doing this... I look at him and his family. How difficult it must be living with any form of cancer.

I'd like to give a big shout out to Tom Wood at Clear Channel. I know everyone listens to the radio.. at least I do and I don't know how anyone couldn't. There are 5 preset buttons on my radio in my car and the are KSSN, The Wolf, and Tom FM. All three of these stations are in the Clear Channel community. They are going to doing public announcements for the LLS Skate and I am hoping to do some bake sales, cook-outs and I haven't decided what to call it but we are going to raffle off gift certificates. Mostly to restaurants.. .but who knows..... what else we will have. I am going to try to get some big gift item as well. So stayed tuned..

Ok everyone, listen up... There is going to be some fun on March 24th, 2011 at Joyland Skating Center. You will not see me on skates because the last time I skated.. I broke my arm. My best friend, the owner is hosting a fundraiser for LLS and all the proceeds from admission are going to LLS. She is so wonderful for letting us do this, but I could have told you that. She's hosting one tomorrow night for Arkansas Children's hospital, so if you live in the Cabot area, please go by and donate. What's really great is that our honorary team member Tanner lives in Cabot and I am hoping he feels well enough to join us for this event. The address to Joyland Skating Center is: 2020 South Second Street, Cabot, AR. It's on highway 367, south of down town Cabot and near West Side Elementary School. This is going to be the week of spring break so brings the kids and have some great fun and exercise.

Oh and by the way, the owner of Joyland Skating Center was my best friend in high school and she was there when I broke my arm skating.. Actually, we were doing the whip and she whipped me into the wall...LOL

Isn't it funny what goes through your mind when you can't sleep? I mean every little thing. So at 3:00am, I am wondering how I am going to pay all my bills and raise money for LLS, because I really would like to go to San Diego. Then I started thinking about how I spent an hour or so preparing letters to send and wondering if it would do any good? While I was preparing my letters, I had to write the word leukemia and really wasn't sure how to spell it. I remember when my dad was diagnosed with mesotheleomia, now there's a word. You know I learned to spell it and say it very quickly. It was a very difficult time in my life. I can't imagine having a doctor tell me that my child has leukemia like Tanner's mom. What she must have and is still going through. There are so many more like him and I am asking you to please donate on his behalf or someone that you know that has cancer or is a cancer survivor. Cancer is cancer...Every little bit we donate helps families like Tanner.
