Swimming, Biking & Running to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the St. Anthony's Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Florida as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. St. Anthony's is an olympic distance triathlon consisting of a 1.5K swim (0.9 mile), a 40K bike (24.8 miles), and a 10K run (6.2 miles). This will take place on April 26th, 2009. While this may seem like a daunting challenge to undertake, it pales in comparison to the daily challenges that face those who are living with leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers.

These are my goggles. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Without my goggles, I am swimming blind in the water. Together we will complete 1.5K in the Gulf of Mexico! Please don't leak!!

This is my bike. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Without my bike, I can't pedal without looking like a mime who really likes spandex. Together we will cycle 24.8 miles using every gear available if necessary. I am not above engaging the granny gear to propel me forward! No flats, ok?

These are my running shoes. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Without my running shoes, I would not get very far without hobbling. Together we will cover 6.2 miles as fast as possible. Watch out for rocks, I don't want to trip!

This is my goal. There are many like it, but this one is mine. Without my goal, this is just another race. But this is clearly not just another race, this is an opportunity to make a difference, an opportunity to race for someone other than myself. I have set a personal goal of raising a minimum of $4300 toward The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). With your help and generosity, together we will raise the funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
