My Fundraising Page

THANK YOU SO MUCH for visiting my fundraising site for my twelth event with Team in Training! I love this organization and am passionate about this cause and will be participating in the Mayors Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska on June 23, 2012.
As many of you know, my daughter, Kaitlyn, and I decided to participate in our first event back in 2006 after losing a very dear friend of ours to Leukemia. Jessica Johnson was only 18 and faced her cancer with an AMAZING attitude and outlook on life. I was with Jessica when she passed away and vowed to work hard to make a difference for future children and parents. Jessica was my inspiration and I believe that every single dollar raised is making a difference for the care of patients and ultimately, for a CURE!
Now those of you who know me know that I'm NOT the ultra marathon woman! I am not even a very strong runner. I am just determined! I have run a little, walked a little, and basically just put one foot in front of the other. At times, the training can be hard, the weather can be awful and the fundraising can be challenging, but I always think of Jessica and it keeps me going!
I also train and run in memory of both of my parents and many others who bravely battled various types of cancers during their short lives. I believe that one day there will be a cure and no one else will have to suffer.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help STOP leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who have been touched by these diseases. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for your support!
May you be richly blessed!
