Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I'm training to participate in the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle 1/2 Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia,
lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!

I am now convinced that the rain is my friend! I ran 4 miles today non-stop for the first time ever. Every time I reach a new milestone, it's been in the rain. I'm sure Seattle will be the perfect place for me to run my half marathon! It also helped that as I was running, a little boy and his father rode their bikes past me. As they passed, the little boy gave me a huge smile and I immediately remembered what I was running for. My hero Mollie and other children that suffer from Leukemia can't always ride their bikes or go outside and play. I'm blessed with my health and have the capability to run this half marathon. I will run this half marathon in honor of Mollie and all those suffering from Leukemia and Lymphoma. Thank you so much to all of you that have supported me and made a donation to help battle these cancers!

Well, I finally did it! I ran 3 miles non-stop today in Atlanta's Jig/Jog 5K. My time was 35:59, which means I ran a 12 minute mile. Yeah, I'm slow right now, but at least I didn't stop -even though it was raining and there were some steep hills to get over. I can't wait to reach the four mile mark now. I'll keep you posted.
