Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to run in the Rock and Roll Savannah Half Marathon on November 5, 2011 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training(TNT) are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I run in memory of my Uncle Walt who lost the battle against lymphoma in 2007. I run in memory of my father, Jack Mitchell. Although he did not have a blood cancer, he passed away September 2008 from Adrenal Cortical Cancer and over the years, leukemia and lymphoma research has proven to be the window of hope for potential cures for other forms of cancer. Bone marrow transplantation and chemotherapy both stemmed from leukemia research.
This is my second time participating with TNT. I trained for and completed the ING Full Marathon in 2009 and had an awesome experience. So, I'm very excited to be doing this again and now my husband will be joining me as well! We have a team page, Team Woolly Mammoth Runners and you can support us by making a donation there or you can support me individually by making a donation on this page.
I hope you will visit my web site often. I have also set up a new blog to document how my training is going. Check it out at: http://runjackierun.blogspot.com/
