I just received a phone call that let me know that I received a VIP Grant from the company I work for, Hanover Insurance!
Every quarter they choose 10-12 organizations to donate $500. You have to fill out an application giving more information about the organization, their mission, how you are involved, and how many hours you volunteer each week.
It will take several weeks for the check to go through but this puts me SO close to my goal.
Thanks Hanover!!!
This past Saturday, July 16th, I ran a half marathon in Macon, GA. This race was interesting because it was run at night (hence the name) and it was through a residential neighborhood with lots of hills, descents, and turns.
I wrote a full write up about the race on my blog:

Thanks so much for everyone else that has donated so far :)
As some of you know - I am also training for a half marathon on July 17th in Macon, GA. It is called Make it By Midnight and the point of the race is to finish as close to midnight as possible. Therefore, you choose your own starting time (i.e. if you thought you will run it in 2 hours, you will start at 10 pm). I'm so excited about this race but training has proven to be a little difficult. I'm working up to longer runs now for the half 9-10 miles but I'm trying not to burn myself out so I'll be strong for Marathon training for the next 5 months.
Overall, I'm so enjoying this process so far and everyone at Team in Training is so supportive and we have a great group! :)
Thank you SO much to everyone who has donated so far. For numerous different reasons, I will now be running the Savannah Rock N Roll Marathon - have no fear, I'm still doing the full! I am so excited because I will have more supporters there, friends to run with, and new people to meet!
When my fundraising page was switched over to the Savannah marathon, the individuals' names who already donated were deleted because it gets transferred as one lump sum. I would like to give credit to everyone who has donated thus far because it is BEYOND appreciated!! Thanks again :)

Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page! Thank you so much for visiting.
I'm training to participate in the Savannah Rock N Roll Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. Any little bit that you can donate helps -- all amounts are very much appreciated!
I hope you will visit my web site often and check back frequently to see my progress, as I will be blogging about my training. I am so excited (and anxious) about running this race and your support means so much to me. Thank you!
