Race Event: San Diego Rock and Roll
Marathon; May 31, 2009
Wow! What a fantastic time in San Diego!! Inspirational stories and people, a completed half marathon, and a beautiful city to explore. The race went well. Megan and I ran together and we can say, "We did it!" The people in the TNT group are exceptional-supportive and fun and there for a purpose. I'll never forget this past weekend.
Thanks to those of you who have donated toward this goal, both financially and emotionally. You're the best.
The picture above is of our Savannah team at 4:30 am on race day.
We're a pretty snazzy group! We all finished and had good attitudes too! Go, team!!
If you haven't already, please consider supporting The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society . Keep watching for updates and keep supporting TNT (Team in Training)!!
Megan and I are training to participate in a half marathon (yes, that's 13.1 miles of running!) as members of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. We are completing this event in honor of all individuals, our heroes, who are battling blood cancers...
my special hero is Matthew McKinley, 3-year-old son of our dear friends, Mike and Rosalie. Matthew was diagnosed with ALL-acute lymphocytic leukemia -on July 17, 2007. Partially finished with his chemotherapy treatments, he is currently in remission.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission, developing new and better treatments and finding the cure...let's all honor Matthew in this way!
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see Megan's and my progress. Thanks for your support!
