Racing for a Cure

Teams are made up of individuals. Without individuals, there is no team.

I have been part of the LLS team since 2004... cycling, running, swimming - completing dozens of endurance events. This TEAM's power to generate funds and raise awareness for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is beyond compare. That power is generated through the support and generosity of countless family, friends, acquaintances and even several people I've never met. Together we have collectively raised over $100,000 thus far! For those of you who have been part of that team... THANK YOU!!
Yet it is unfortunate that, still, so many of us are living with the devastating impacts of cancer. My family was turned up-side-down by the loss of my young cousin, Lara, who succumbed to Leukemia when she was only a teenager. We've said good-bye to other family members as a result of cancer, and have been grateful for those, like my mother, who have triumphed over cancer.
This year I am rejoining our team "The Georgia Chain Gang", along with 7 other cyclists and an eager and able-bodied support crew. In June we will be traveling coast-to-coast, over 3,000 miles, on BICYCLES!, as participants in Race Across America (RAAM)! In 2010, I was honored to be part of the team as their crew chief. Together we raised over $125,000 on that trip. This year I'll be participating as one of the cyclists and we have challenged ourselves to raise over $200,000 for LLS. Our mission is to raise awareness of blood cancers and the need and to generate critical funds that can help eliminate these diseases from claiming more lives.
Donations will help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. The research towards blood cancers is also directly extending into the treatments for many non blood-related cancers as well.
Please make a tax-deductible donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and join our team's efforts to advance the research towards ures of all types of cancer.
We are riding in honor and memory of all those who have battled cancer. We would also like to dedicate each mile along the course to the honor or memory of our donor's loved ones as well. Simply enter their name in the comment field on the donation form and we'll take them along as we Race Across America to find a cure!
Thank you!
