The GANG is back! After cycling and racing across the country two years in a row at the Race Across America (RAAM)—a feat that took less than eight days on both occasions—the team of four local men, known as the Georgia Chain Gang, are training for yet another cross country race in 2012 and this time the size of the team has doubled.
Now eight riders, the cyclists----Lee Amlicke, Jane Eastham, Frank Fuerst, Stephen Harrell, Tony Myers, Dave Payne, Jerome Rossetti and Lisa Wilson —are gearing up for the 2012 Race Across America, a 3,200 mile race, set to begin in Oceanside, California and end in Annapolis, Maryland in June.
The Georgia Chain Gang, raced in the Race Across America in 2009 and in 2010 and used the race to raise more than $210,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). This year, the goal is to raise $200,000 to benefit LLS! We ride for our friend, former crew chief and our Honored Hero, Warren Bruno and all those affected by blood cancer. Please make a contribution. You will literally be saving lives.
