Please come out and enjoy come yummy desserts while helping find a cure!
The official first day of team training was last Saturday so I am a little late on this post. The first training day was fantastic. Everyone was so full of energy and ready to start the next 5-month training journey as a team. I was a little nervous walking in because this is my first time running a half marathon. I did not know what to expect; I kind of thought that we would just stretch and then run. Boy oh Boy was I wrong! We started out with a spring teams meeting. We were able to meet all the coaches, mentors, and captains for the different team. We were informed of all people that are going to be there to help make our training and fundraising goals a success. After the group information session we went out to stretch and get ready for our 3 mile run. The run went well we had a water break at mile about 1.5 miles. I am not used to running outside I have mainly been training on the treadmill for my weekday runs. I really enjoyed running outside and seeing about the beautiful houses that we passed on our run.

Saturday run #2:
We started about with a shoe clinic! I learned sooo much more in that clinic then I did when I was fitted for my shoes. It was very helpful and I need new shoes :)
The run yesterday started out great! The first two miles were good legs were fine. Then a HUGE gust of wind came by and a pieces of a leaf decided that it needed to be friends with my EYEBALL!!! For the last mile I could not see out of my right eye and it was like someone was stabbing my eye. When we got back to the church I was able to get the piece out of my eye. It took forever to find that little painful piece of dirt. My eye is still swollen. Really... its been more then 24 hours please go back to normal!
I will try to update ever Saturday or Sunday and hopefully one day a week with how my training is going.
GO TEAM!!!
RUN #3
Last weekend was run number 3 and we were at the river. With it being just a couple day after Thanksgiving not everyone was there to run with us but the few that were there made it fun! It was kind of nice not knowing anyone it made me get out there and meet some of my other teammates and it also really made me focus on my running other than just talking to people.
I am really liking running in the cold weather much more then the hot; even if my fingers and lungs do care much for it. New running clothes are going to be a must in the next couple of weeks. Cotton is rotten and unfortunately all my cold weather clothes I have for running are cotton.
As for my running and mileage I think that things are really going well. I can say that I can run 6 miles without wanting to cry. We are supposed to be running about 3 miles a 4x per week until about January but I along with my BFF and teammate Alex are running the Hot Chocolate 15k January 13th. So I am going to have to change up my training some to be fully prepared for that yummy race! ☺
As for my fundraising I have some ideas brewing. I will be super excited when I get hear back from the people that I have contacted about events that I would love to host.
I am pump for this weekends GTS at the Galloway school. We will be talking about running form; which I am pretty sure I lack any sort of positive form. I hope to get a ton of information from this weeks GTS!!
GO TEAM
Thanks for stopping by!

Teams are made up of individuals. Without them, there is no team.
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I have a mission-to help find cures and more effective treatments for blood cancers. To accomplish that mission, I’m participating in a sports endurance event as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Team In Training. Like the other members of TNT, I will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. I’m improving the quality of my life by participating and with your support, I can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures.
