Me, after my first run

Me, after group training run on 6/12, almost a month after the start of training!
Hi! Welcome to my Team in Training Page :-)
The first "race" I ever ran was a Race for the Cure 5k. Nothing in this world has affected me like seeing thousands of people coming out to support Breast Cancer awareness and research. I was humbled by the beautiful sight of cancer survivors (some still bald) participating in race events. I couldn't stop the tears from falling as people would ask me to help them pin on "Survivor" tags or "In Memory Of" tags before their race. I was extremely humbled to even be in the midst of such strength.
I didn't think anything could motivate me to run faster and farther than the people I met as a Race for the Cure participant and volunteer.
Until now.
I'm preparing for a new race. A much longer, much scarier race! I'm training to run a marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. The first picture you see at the top is me, after my first training run (3 miles!) The second picture is a month later, after running 4 miles in 90+ degree heat.
My goal is to raise $4000 to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am running in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and ALL cancers. Almost all of us have been touched by cancer, and frankly I'm tired of it.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training. My fundrasing supports my marathon training.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
