Racing to Save Lives
Post Race Update
I did it!!!
Thanks to everyone who supported me in my fundraising and training. Through your help, I raised almost $600 more than my goal and I powered through the race. I'm back at work now, finally walking normally sporting my Tiffany's Finisher's Necklace.
Official race photos came out this morning, but I thought that I would share a little unofficial picture from the Team in Training tent. Thanks for taking the photo mom! Who knew that I could make a space blanket look so good! And I was still able to smile. I think that is mostly because I got to sit down with my Boudin's Bakery Sandwich and a Diet Coke.
If you asked me immediately after the race, I would have said that I had fun, but that I'm not interested in running another half marathon. If you asked me now, you might get a different answer. That is entirely because of the support of my friends and family, and the TEAM!
9/10/08 Update-
So...... I'm not so good at keeping things updated, but there is actually a reason this time. Life has been pretty busy in my world. My training and fundraising have been going well. I guess the biggest news is my job. I've moved to a new job, working full-time for Team in Training. I'll be serving as a staff coordinator for other participants who are going through the training and fundraising process too.
at this point, I'm still trying to figure out how everything works, but honestly, being on the other side of the program has only strengthened my dedication to my training and fundraising. I'm working on updating my blog tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully you will be able to get more detailed information within the next 24-48 hours. Click here to check it out.

I'm trying to keep it fairly well updated. Hopefully I'll be able to get some photos up either here or there in the near future.
4/25/08-
Hey everyone!
Welcome to my Team In Training page.
I know that you might have heard me after I ran the ING half marathon last year. "I'm never going to run that far, EVER AGAIN."
Well, things have changed.
Six months of Bootcamp later and I feel like I'm finally up to the challenge. As I was thinking about possibly tackling another half marathon, I started to think about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. Why not do two things at once, train for a race and raise money to help individuals battling blood cancers. In addition to supporting a worthy cause, Team in Training will provide me with the support of a team during my training and my race.
I will be running in the Nike Women's Full and Half Marathon (I'll be doing the half). The race is in San Francisco on October 19th. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am running in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission. For those of you living in the Bay area, I'd love your support the day of the race as well. I've heard that it is a great party. I've even heard rumors of a chocolate mile (courtesy of Ghirardelli).
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently. I'll post pictures as soon as possible and keep everyone updated with my progress.
If you have any questions, or if you are interested in joining Team in Training, feel free to send me an email.
Thanks for your support!
