Well it's done! The 26.2 miles over the hills of San Francisco and one of the most amazing journeys of my life. With your help I raised $4,800 for Leukemia and Lymphoma research and patient care! Incredible! This photo was taken during the race. Not sure what mile we were at but I am assuming it is early in the race because I still look happy. :-) (Had to do the rock fingers to look cool in my pictures according to my kids so there they are.) I want to thank everyone for the support and encouragement that I received over the past five months because I couldn't have done it without you!
Though this season is over with this won't be the last you hear of me. I have been chosen to be a mentor for the next group of participants in the ING Half-marathon March 2009 so the training will continue.
Money donated to Team in Training not only goes toward cancer research but also helps individual patients with some of the uncovered expenses involved in receiving treatments, such as travel costs. Unlike some organizations that utilize a majority of donation monies to cover administrative costs, Seventy five percent (75%) of your Team in Training donation goes directly toward research and patient assistance!
I am so thankful that God gave me the opportunity to do this and I knew that y'all would get me to the race!
