Welcome to my Leukemia and Lymphoma fundraising page!
I have been connected with this cause since my father was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia in 1995 and passed that same year. I became part of the Leukemia and Lymphomia Society’s Team In Training program in 2000. Since that year, largely with your help, I have raised over $100,000. As a member of the Team, I have competed in 35 endurance events (marathons, century rides, an adventure race, and starting this year, triathlons). I have met hundreds of great people and made lifelong friends.
While there have been great strides in the battle against blood cancers, there is still much to be done. To that end, I am taking a bold step. I have signed up and plan to successfully compete in the 2011 Ironman Arizona. That’s right, an Ironman; a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bike ride, followed by a marathon, a 26.2 mile run! Daunting, but much easier than what cancer hero's live through daily. And I have a choice.
I will not do this alone. I will be training with 50 fellow Atlantan’s. I will have great coaches and support. I am also asking each of you to join me in taking this next step. I have set a goal to raise $10,000 before I jump in the lake in Tempe, AZ in November. Will you please contribute to my fundraising effort. There is a link to the right for you to easily enter your tax deductible contribution. Thank you for your continued support!
