Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page!

By now you know that I devote most of my spare time to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), running with the Team in Training program to raise money for those I know (and those I don't) whose lives have been affected by blood cancer. Sarah, Kate, Bella, Mallory, Daniel, Keagan--these are the names and faces of leukemia and lymphoma, and I'm sure you can add those of your friends and family as well.

This spring, I am captaining a team of marathoners who will be completing the Country Music Marathon in Nashville, TN. These dedicated individuals have run countless miles week in and week out in all sorts of weather and have collectively raised over $20,000 to support the fight against blood cancers.

I know many of you have donated before. And I know that times are tough. And if they are tough for those of use healthy enough to work and go about our normal activities every day, imagine how challenging they are for blood cancer patients and their families. And I have promised my dear friends that I will continue running until there is a cure--until the survival rate reaches 100%, until six year old girls don't have to miss out on being normal first graders to face chemotherapy, until my friends no longer have to battle insurance companies to cover thousands of dollars worth of life-saving treatments. And that day has not yet arrived. So, as I continue to lace up my running shoes day after day, week after week, I would ask that you support me in whatever way you can.

Think about the faces of cancer in your life, and forgo that $5 cup of coffee or $10 lunch--I promise you, every penny is appreciated and crucial in the fight against leukemia and lymphoma.
