Two of my favorite things in the world are running and beer. I can't think of a better way to help raise money to fight blood cancers than by involving beer.
The average adult has about 10 pints of blood in his body. Beer is usually measured in pints. People fighting blood cancers have pints that make their days tough. To help raise funds, I am having a beer raffle. For each $10 donation, you receive a chance to win some awesome brews including the complete Founders Backstage series.
For all the rules and info, visit: burgerandbrew.com/beerraffle/
Raffle is closed. Thanks to all for your donations and entries.

When training for a marathon, the mileage schedule is very important. We slowly build our bodies up to endure 26.2 miles. The schedule is there to build stamina and protect to us from injury. This morning I woke up at 5:45 to run 8 miles. I find myself to be a very disciplined and dedicated person. The alarm didn't awake a very happy person this morning.
Despite my body's complaints, I got out of bed and went out for the run. Everyday, I make a choice to run the miles, regardless of how I might feel. I do this because the people I run for didn't get to make a choice if they got cancer. I chose to run to find a cure. I chose to endure so they can.
If you can, please make a small contribution to my fundraising campaign. Every dollar counts in helping those currently suffering and finding a cure so no one has to again
How serious is blood cancer? Every four minutes, someone new is diagnosed with blood cancer.
Roger Bannister, the ideal choice to light Olympic flame in 2012, achieved the first four-minute mile in 1954. The four-minute mile is the standard for all professional middle distance runners. That means that every mile an elite runner completes, a new person is diagnosed. And every 10 minutes or 2.5 miles, someone dies.
With Team in Training, every mile completed by our team will lead to money going towards research to stop the clock on blood cancers. I hope to see a day where a plaque is posted that states where blood cancers were cured.
Thanks so much for your generosity. Every dollar counts towards curing the 4-minute barrier.
The average person has about 10 pints of blood in their body. There are a few different types, but it all serves the same purpose. It is the needed lifestream that moves us everyday. Sometimes we donate some of our own to help our fellow man. Our body will make more.
Unfortunately, there are those among us who have a different story. More than 823,000 Americans are battling blood cancers. Slowly, their power of 10 loses strength. The very blood that keeps them alive rebels against the body. That's where LLS and Team in Training can make a difference.
While participating in endurance events with Team in Training, our blood pumps through our body harder than normal. It pumps to sustain us to the finish. It also pumps for those who are battling these cancers. The power of our 10 pints will one day help to find a cure for blood cancers.
Help us keep the innovation pumping by making a donation today. Thank you so much for your generosity.
I am ready for the Magnficient Mile. Yes, Michigan Avenue in Chicago. But more importantly, each magnificent mile in the Chicago Marathon that will lead to a cure for blood cancers.
I'm training to participate in the 2012 Chicago Marathon on October 7, 2012 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation in support of my efforts with Team In Training and help advance the research for cures. I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
