It's hard to believe that we are already halfway through the season. In two short months we'll be on our way to Alaska to run. I've been thinking a lot about this over the past several days. Lots of thoughts and emotions have run through my head. Last week I was worried about how fast the mileage was going up after finishing my last marathon just 3 weeks ago. Then as I was filling out recommitment paperwork I got really excited. And then earlier this week I remembered why I do all of these events with team in training. See I was thinking about my Uncle, and how the family just hasn't felt the same since he lost his battle with cancer. We use to get together every few years, and now it's almost three years after his death, and we have yet to do another family get together like everyone talked about. My uncle was the silly one. I think his goal was to make everyone laugh, something I can relate too. It dawned on me while running Tuesday morning that seems to have gone away in the family where big life problems seem to keep bringing everyone down. It also dawned on me that the day of the race is almost exactly 3 years from when my Uncle was diagnoised. It almost seems fitting to be running a race that with Team in Training.

I still have a little ways to go. Two more months of training, and $300 more to raise. I need your help to not only help search for a cure for an awful disease, but to get to the starting line on June 18th. A donation of $5 can help change someone's life as they battle for their life. Please help!

Racing to Save Lives

Yes, I'm back at it again. But this time it's a little different. Over the past three years I've become more and more involved with Team in Training. It's an organization I believe in a lot. While no one in my immediate family has had blood cancer, we have had many fights with cancer. This time I'm running the Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon in Alaska and need your help to raise $500. It's amazing how a seemingly small amount can make such a big impact. It helps save the lives of countless people battling cancer today, and will help us find a cure for cancer in the future. Even $5 can change someone's life.

Just the other day I was reminded of how heart breaking cancer is when a dear friend got word that it was time to say goodbye to her father after a valiant fight. It is time to stop cancer! Please join me in this fight!

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. You can also follow my training on my blog or at DailyMile. Thanks for your support!
