Here I go again!
As you know I have been involved with The Leukemia & Society's (LLS) Team In Training for several years. I am presently training for a Century Ride at Lake Tahoe on June 5th. My fundraising goal is $7,500.
2010 was not a good health year for me. My Non Hodkin's Lymphoma returned after five years in remission. I was given two seperate chemotherapy treatments that both lasted three months. Unfortunately neither of them proved effective and at the end of each I was hospitalized with high fevers and fatigue. My Oncologists wants me to take a break and build back my strength while we weigh the options. I am hoping to be involved in a clinical trial this summer, other options could include bone marrow or stem cell transplants.
The question is what do you do while waiting? For me there is only one answer. Live life to the fullest, be gratefull, enjoy each day,, give back to all those who have supported me, and help fund the reseach that may one day cure Non Hodgkins Lymphoma.
I am training for Tahoe. There is a chance that my symptoms may return and keep me from completing the ride.... but I am going to try my best.
