Wow, when I started this fundraising back in January, I was hopeful that I could complete the entire goal, but not 100% confident. To see that my friends, family, neighbors, colleagues and supporters from all walks of life have come together and helped me surpass the goal is simply incredible. I am deeply grateful to you all. We are only three weeks away from the big biking day and I hope that my legs, back and body are as ready to ride 100 miles as you were to donate to this foundation.

A good friend of mine, Mike Loria, has jumped into this effort as well and will be joining me in Lake Tahoe on June 5. Mike's dad is also a very recent cancer survivor having beaten an initial diagnosis and an aggressive relapse and metastasizing to his brain. We are very proud of him as well.

I have partnered with The Ski Channel and Studio Movie Grill in Alpharetta to bring the Georgia World Premier of 'The Story' a hi-definition ski and snowboard film produced by The Ski Channel to Alpharetta. The film will be shown on February 17 at the brand new Studio Movie Grill where you can enjoy dinner and a cocktail while taking in new release movies.

Tickets to the premier are available from Studio Movie Grill here, and cost $25.00 per person. With a ticket purchase, you will get a $12.00 voucher to spend on food or beverages from their bar during the event, and $13.00 from each ticket will go toward my fundraising goal.

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I recently completed two years of battle against Hodgkin's Lymphoma including gallons of chemotherapy, weeks of radiation, several surgeries and finally a stem cell transplant. I am feeling better now and have joined Team in Training for several reasons.

• I need the exercise to re-condition and strengthen my body
• I want to raise money to support LLS funding of research because it does make a difference to people in treatment
• I want to prove that young adults can survive and thrive even after extensive cancer treatment.

I'm training to participate in America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride, a 100 mile loop around Lake Tahoe on June 5, 2011, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and in honor of the talented and committed doctors, nurses, and staff at Emory University Hospital who were so good to me during my treatment. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need to support them.
