Run, Julie, Run!
Work hard, play hard, run hard.
That's my personal motto. It gets me through crazy days as a Backpack Journalist at 11Alive News and helps me enjoy my long runs through the city.
I hope that same motto will now help me save lives.
I'm training to run the Georgia ING Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
In my years in local TV news, I've profiled so many people with cancer. Young bald-headed kids that make you cry, moms and teens and teachers. I am completing this event in honor of them. They've shared their stories and inspired me to do something more than just talk.
Now, I need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
I know times are tough. My co-workers and I took 10 days of furlough this year. I know many of you are past the point of cutting back: you're cutting OUT. So, please just give what you can. Even just a few dollars.
