T minus 10 days! A week from Sunday, race day will have finally arrived, and we want to personally thank everyone for being a part of getting us here. Lauren is gearing up for the big day, excited to finish the race... and Lindsey has officially registered for the Nike Women's Half Marathon this fall in San Francisco. Although it's not the ending we expected, we could not be more excited about the outcome-- over $5200 raised for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! In this last week before ING, as the miles taper off, we are focusing on getting Lauren prepared to finish this next step in our Team in Training journey... with Gu's and Energy Beans, water bottles and vaseline, this last week is a time for preparation and reflection. It has truly been an amazing, and inspirational ride, and we sincerely believe that all of us together have made a meaningful contribution to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives and to support families currently coping with these diseases. We continue to draw strength and inspiration from the stories of our "Heroes", Maddie and Daniel, and look forward to supporting them, and telling the world their stories on race day! Although our personal goal is met, there is no such thing as too much fundraising, so if you are still interested in contributing, our page will be open up to the day of the race. Please consider joining our team by making a donation in this last week! We've said it before, and we'll say it again... we are continually amazed by the generosity of our friends and family. You are truly the driving force that will get us through the event, and it means so much to us to have your support! Check back after the event for a play-by-play of race day, and check out our training blog: http://sistersintraining.blogspot.com/. Thanks for your support! |
