Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

I'm training to participate in the ING Georgia Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. I promise to get better at updating this page, my training has been going very well, thanks to all the coaches and staff with TnT! Thanks for your support!

3/18 - So the race is just a week and a half away, and I feel like I'm very much ready for it. We had out last long training runs and have moved into a taper phase. Very exciting! Even more exciting, we got our event shirts, and we've started talking about race day strategy... I feel like I can do this, which is a far cry from where I was 4 months ago!

3/7 - I've been on the road for work all week and I ended with an interesting early morning run at the Navy base again. There was some large animal in the woods near the halfway point. This too, is an effective pace building exercise!

2/28 - The words "only 8 miles" actually came out of my mouth this morning. It poured rain most of the run, but we got to have some great food and teambuilding after. (see a pattern with run/food anyone?)

2/24 - A very tough track practice. We worked on paceing tonight which was fun, but more thinking than I'm used to doing when I'm running. Turns out I can keep a fairly consistent pace when I'm running. Never a bad thing.

2/21 - 12 miles!!! Done. I'm glad that's over, after some evil stretch PT afterward, there was a trip to Goldbergs .... mmmm, bagels!

2/19 - My first update in a while, sorry this has taken forever, I'll try and sum up: I'm running. A LOT! But, this is a good thing. Had two good runs through Buckhead this week with my teammates, last night through the wind and rain - adds a little excitement to things. This Saturday is 12 miles; yet another "longest distance ever" for me. Thanks again to everyone for all their support. I'll be posting updates like this from now on.
