Dear Family & Friends,

For the first time ever, I am training for a half and full marathon, the ING Rock ‘n’ Roll ½ Marathon on September 18th and the Philadelphia Marathon on November 20th, 2011 – two races in two months! Through the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's “Team in Training” program, athletes run, walk, cycle and hike to raise money for lifesaving cancer research. Fortunately for me, the hard work of training will end on November 20th, 2011, but it hardly compares to the amount of hard work, pain and suffering those battling cancer experience every day!

I am dedicating this race to the memory of Constance D’Alberto, who lost her battle to pancreatic cancer in 1993. I NEED YOUR HELP TO RAISE $5,000 in honor of Connie and thousands of other lives that could be saved through the cancer research of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Connie was a friend to me and a daughter, wife and mother to some of the most important people in my life! These special people have become an “extension” of my own family and have had a huge impact on my life, both collectively and individually. I would not have had the pleasure of knowing them if not for their courageous mother Connie.
