Racing to Save Lives
I'd like to say I've always been a runner, but that would be a lie. I have clear memories of the side stiches that resulted from a simple soccer game when I was five. And, unfortunately, I stayed as far away from running as I could until my early 20s Since then, I've completed a handful of 5Ks, a 10K, two 10 Milers, and a Half Marathon.
And now I'm taking the plunge: a full marathon.
What makes this different is that I'm training to participate in the 2009 Philadelphia Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
If you'd like to follow my training, go to my blog at Wordpress, which I'l be updating a few times a week. Thanks for your support!
