Nine years ago Derek Fitzgerald was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which utimately led to the heart transplant he received on January 3, 2011. His survival has been greatly due to advances in medical science and the caring and generosity of others. Now it’s his turn to say thanks and do his part. This year, Derek has joined forces with his brothers-in-law, Dan Coyle and Angelo Giuffrida to form "Team Recycledman". On April 29th, 2012, they will be competing as members of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Team In Training” (TNT) in the St. Anthony’s Triathlon in St. Petersburg, Florida. The race will consist of a .93 mile swim, a 24.85 mile bike ride, and a 6.2 mile run.

Team Recycledman will be raising funds to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. With your support, we can help improve the quality of life for patients and their families as well.
