Racing to Save Lives
FOR ALL OF THOSE FOLLOWING ALONG . . .

Sorry I haven't updated for a little while...Getting maried and 'what not' was taking up a little bit of my time. I have run over 300 miles at this point, the last lot of them through a fair deal of pain. We are getting closer to the event and I am getting so excited to finish this race. Run, walk or crawl with my fingernails, I am going to cross that finish line and when I have to dig deep and push myself farther than I ever have before, I will be thinking of all of you, who shared in caring for this great cause as much as I do. Thank you to everyone for helping anyone affected by these diseases and for helping me. We will both be doing things that were once not possible due to you.

We ran 10 miles today...I paced 10'04" a mile. I felt pretty sick for the rest of the day but I keep reminding myself that I don't feel as bad as the people I am running this race for. Also remember this same thing if you get post-donation-sickness. Times are tight but cancer won't wait for the economy to pick up. So, everything is even that much more appreciated right now. This is for a great cause and we are all doing this together for people who need the help.

We ran 9 miles today...I paced 10'16" a mile. This is the longest I have ever ran, which probably showed when I got back to where we had started and almost lost my "small nutritious breakfast." The "Gu's" that I started taking mid-run are probably what caused this but everything had subsided and I was good to go after only 10 minutes or so. The rest of the day felt great. I have really enjoyed waking up early and getting these long runs in because the rest of the day always feels awesome. I just wanted to thank everyone again for all of the donations. Your monetary sacrifices and my 'self-physical torment' are, I am sure, appreciated greatly by everyone who really needs the support. Until next time - Mac
Hey Everybody,
This is my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to
run the Rock & Roll Full Marathon in Seattle, at the end of June, as a member of The Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. I am raising money to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin
lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in
honor of everyone who is struggling with blood cancers.
It occurred to me this last week, while on a run, that I am fortunate to learn more about these cancers by choice and without having to learn more about them by necessity. That strengthened my resolve to keep running and to keep raising money for this cause and for anyone who isn't able to run and raise money right now due to their illness. I am hoping that what I am doing and what all of you, by donating are doing, will put the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in a place to change their mission from teaching people about their cause to, teaching people about 'the cure.'
I just wanted to ask one more thing to anyone who reads this. If you have a story of someone who you know personally who has been afflicted by any of these illnesses, please share. I would like to have specific people who I am thinking about while running the longer distances to remember why I started all of this.
Please make a
donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance
LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often.
Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your
support!
