I may have completed my 13.1 miles but the race for a cure is still on. I would love to have your continued support as I aim to achieve my fundraising goals. I have completed my miles but my finacial fundraising goals have still fallen short and I need your help! The race was a such a fun and rewarding experience with helpful and supportive faces along every step and every mile of the race. Walking, climbing stairs, and moving in general has been difficult these past few days and there a few less then attractive blisters on my toes but they serve as a reminder of the accomplishment I achieved. Now to decide if a full marathon is really in my future or not?? hmmmm... that's something I'm still contemplating, but I definitely see a few more 1/2 marathons for sure! Please look through a few of my race pictures and consider helping the many honored heros that are supported through Team In Training and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! Training continues for my 1/2 Marathon goal! I finished a 12k a couple weeks ago in 1hr 24mins and felt great afterwards! My training partners have really kept my motivated and moving. I will say I appreciate the weather out here in Phoenix, with all the snow I've heard rumor about blanketing the Northern part of the country, it sure makes me content to run in these dry, cool, sunny conditions. With the end so close in site I still have only reached 52% of my fundraising goal so I am still looking for your help! Please help support my to reach the finish line. I hope everyone had a lovely holiday season and a fabulous New Year's!
Week 3 of Training is successfully underway. I completed a refreshing 6mile run yesterday and it felt great! Almost halfway to the 13miles of the 1/2 Marathon. In order to add to my training I've signed up for a few other races. My first 10k will be next Sunday, Nov 7 and I've signed up for a 12k in Decemeber! My physical trainign has been going well, but I need to step up my fundraising for sure in order to reach my goal by January! Just a reminder to everyone, you can help me by clicking the Donate Now link on this page. Thank you everyone for checking in, hope everyone has a Happy Halloween!
Hi Everybody!
Thank you for taking the time to come and visit my Team In Training Fundraising page for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I have officially begun my training for the PF Chang's Half Marathon on Saturday, January 16, 2011! So far in the last week I have put in a total of 9 miles of running which doesn't even equal the 13 I am planning to run in January in just one day, however, I have much reassurance from my coaches and team members with Team in Training that I will get there!
I am excited and nervous for this challenge but 100% comitted to finishing. The struggles and obstacles I will face can not compare to those that are met by each person diagnosed or affected by cancer. Working as a nurse I see the hardships that these patients and their families face on a daily basis. It is not by choice or preference that they face these obstables. Personally, I know our family has felt loss and watched loved ones struggle with the battle cancer has faced them with. All have fought courageously through, some have ultimately lost in the end, and others continue to fight to survive. None have been or will be forgotten. I will run in honor of all of those that have faced or felt the touch of cancer in their lives.
I will take time to periodically update my fundraising page with updates regarding my training and I encourage you to take time to come back and visit my page often! I want to thank you all in advance for any support you can show me as I know I will need it!
Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I'm training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
