"Where does my money go??"

Hey everyone! Incase you were wondering how your donation dollars are spent, here is an idea of what the donations sometimes cover:
$25 donation – provides patients and their loved ones with FREE booklets that contain up to date information on their disease and helps them make informed decisions about their various treatment options.
$50 donation – makes possible a Family Support Group with a trained facilitator where comfort can be found and experiences can be shared among patients and family members.
$100 donation – helps support laboratory researchers with supplies and materials critical to carrying out the search for cures and new treatments.
$500 donation – could provide patient aid to a person with Leukemia or a related cancer for a year.
$1000 donation – makes possible one on one conversations with health care specialists who provide patients with information about their disease, treatment options, and helps prepare them with questions for the health care team.
Here is another breakdown of where your dollars go:
- 3.2% - Professional Education
- 9.5% - Management & General
- 5.3% - Public Health Education
- 7.6% - Fund Raising
- 6.7% - Patient & Community Service
- 6.7% - Research
Every 4 minutes, a child or adult is newly diagnosed with a blood cancer and every 10 minutes, someone loses their battle. 823,000 Americans are presently living with leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease or myeloma. In 1960, the five year survival rate for children with the most common form of leukemia was just 4%. Due to the help from society-funded research, the survival rate today is 85%!!!
Please donate today to help that survival rate continue to increase!

Racing to Save Lives
Hello everyone and welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I'm training to run the Marathon de Paris on April 10th, 2011 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.
I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
