Racing to Save Lives
In Memory of my Uncle Phil (pictured), my Uncle Larry, and my Cousin Jon, who lost their personal battles with cancer.
As I celebrate almost 5 years of being cancer free from Hodgkins Lymphoma, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is celebrating its 60th Anniversary of working towards a cure for blood cancers. I am proud to have once again joined Team In Training to raise money to support the Society. My personal goal this spring is to raise $4,000 for the Society and to train for the oh-so-hilly Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco this October.
I will admit, it is a challenge to commit to fundraising during these difficult economic times. However, cancer is not sensitive to unemployment rates, the foreclosure crisis or losses in our 401k plans.
Unfortunately, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is. Please join me in supporting an organization that believes all patients deserve quality treatment, regardless of their financial status. The Society contributes 75% of every dollar to its mission, offers a financial aid program, a co-pay assistance program, free education materials, and many other resources to patients at a time when finances should not be a factor.
Please donate either by sending me your personal check or by donating here online. All donations are tax deductible. Check back often to track my fundraising progress and visit my Blog (click here) to hear about my training and fundraising adventures.
I appreciate your donations to this very personal cause. Feel free to forward this page to anyone else who may be interested. Let's not wait another 60 years. Help me meet the LLS goal of providing patient support and finding a cure for blood cancer by 2015.
Thank you for your support!!
