13.1- Still running for a cure!


I'm back! Now I'm training to participate in the Arizona Distance Classic Half Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!


This last Christmas would have been my Granddad's 86th birthday and he was missed by all. On December 6th, I ran the Las Vegas Rock N' Roll Marathon in his memory, and also in memory of my Uncle Ralph. I went on to finish in 4:35 (a personal best!) and it was another emotional race for me- a smile on my face during all 26.2 miles, knowing that I was going to finish with a smile on my face and love in my heart for all those I was running for- the fallen and the survivors of blood cancers.
