Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I DID IT...the Nike Women's Marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. With your help I raised funds for research, patient aid, First Connection volunteers and education to help find a cure for Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma! I completed this event in honor of 5yr old Emily, 12yr old Korey and 32yr old Rebecca and for all those battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
TRAINING UPDATE!!!

I DID IT!! Today was the marathon and the finish line was a beautiful sight. It was definitely the toughest course of the three marathons I've done now...BUT, it was my best time by 15min's. My official time was 4:10:29. I crossed the finish line to be greeted by the gorgeous San Fran firemen (in tuxes no less) handing me my well deserved little blue Tiffany box! The necklace is great and I'll wear it like a pretty little badge of honor!
Now, I've got to run just enough to maintain my fitness and mentally prepare myself to run my next marathon on Nov. 16th in San Antonio! Thanks so much to everyone for their support and donations...as you can see I exceeded my goal. However, you can still donate if you'd like! Remember, our ultimate goal is to find a cure for all blood cancers...and that takes money!
***TNT participants raised over 18 MILLION dollars for this one event....that's awesome!!!

The marathon is only TWO WEEKS away..yipee!
We are officially now in what we call "taper" mode. This is where we cut our mileage more and more as the marathon approaches in order to rest and recover. I feel pretty good and I am getting super excited for the entire Nike Women's Marathon weekend event. I'll update again after the marathon...to let you know I survived...HA!

WHOO HOOO...I did 22 miles this past Saturday on my long run! It was a little painful, but all said and done..I felt pretty good. So, now come October 19th I will only have to bust out another 4 miles...In case anyone didn't know, a marathon is 26.2 miles! Fundraising has been so much fun and and this Saturday I will be having my last big fundraising event! Special thanks to everyone who has already donated!
