Changing Gears
Jan 22, 2011 by Bryan Grosnick

I wanted to give everyone a quick update regarding my training. First, everything has been going well. Sarah and I managed a seven-mile run last week (in below-freezing temperatures, no less!) and it went really well. The training aspect of the race has been truly great.

Unfortunately, we've had a little more trouble with the fund-raising aspect of the race. Given all of our financial commitments coming up soon, we've decided to push back which marathon we'll be participating in. Instead of running the NYC Half Marathon in March, we'll now be running in the Hartford Half Marathon in October. I'll go ahead and provide more details when we know more.

To everyone who has already donated, thank you very much for all of your support! Sarah and I will keep on training, and we definitely look forward to our run later this year!

Training Update

Ramping Up My Training

Now that the New Year's here, its time to get focused on Team In Training and preparing for the NYC Half Marathon! Sometimes its hard to get going and hit the gym, especially with the weather being so cold, but fortunately I have great inspiration to keep going. Not only is the LLS such a great cause to be working for, I'm so lucky in that I've got a terrific training partner in my fiancee, Sarah. She's so proactive and positive about the whole experience and I'm really lucky to have such a great training partner!

Well, I'm happy to say that I'm really starting to see some progress in terms of my endurance. Yesterday was a tough day, but I managed to complete 6.6 miles! It may not seem like much if you're a great runner, but for me, this is huge. This is the farthest distance that I've run in quite a while (for much of 2010 I was battling a knee injury), but I've still got quite a ways to go before I'm ready for the NYC Half Marathon.

As always, thanks for taking the time to visit my TNT page, and please help out by making a donation. Any little bit helps, and there's still a lot of funds to raise before the big race day!

Thanks so much for your help and support!

Racing to Save Lives

Welcome to my Team In Training home page! Thank you for visiting!

I'm training to participate in the NYC Half Marathon 2011 as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance LLS's mission.

I hope you will visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
