Racing to Save Lives
Dear Friends and Family,
Welcome to my Team In Training home page!
I am planning to run the Music City Marathon in Nashville, Tennessee on April 24, 2010. This is to honor my mother, a native Nashvillian, who died in 2002 at Vanderbilt Hospital after battling non-hodgkins lymphoma for 3 years. 2010 would have marked her 80th birthday. And it is both a 50th birthday present to myself and her that I have pledged to do this.
I'm training to participate in this endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's (LLS) Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I am completing this event in honor Mom and of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please help me honor my mother and all our loved ones who have suffered these cancers.
